Overview
The 2017 Volvo V60 Cross Country combines the best of all worlds: it's luxurious, comfortable, and yet still rugged enough to handle a dirt road. Driving the V60 Cross Country will take any ride—whether it's a cross-country adventure or a simple daily commute—to the next level.
The new 2017 V60 Cross Country gets a more fuel-efficient 2.0-L four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection engine, which replaces the previous model's five-cylinder engine. The 2017 model also receives a new eight-speed automatic transmission. It comes in two trim levels, Premier and Platinum, both of which include Convenience and Technology packages that host useful features such as Volvo On Call emergency services, Sensus Connect infotainment system, keyless ignition and entry, and adaptive cruise control.

The V60 Cross Country is a slightly more rugged take on the regular V60 wagon, but with enough luxury and convenience features to keep it classically Volvo. Its 7.9 inches of ground clearance are great for outdoor enthusiasts who'd like to get across dirt roads and trailheads and into grassy camping areas.
Drive & Handling
As mentioned above, the 2017 V60 Cross Country gets a new 4-cylinder engine, which receives 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A standard automatic engine stop-start system will conveniently shut off the engine when the car is stopped to conserve fuel. Volvo says the vehicle can now accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds, almost one second faster than its previous edition.
Paired with the exceptional safety standards that Volvo puts in place with its IntelliSafe technologies, the driving experience is one to remember. The V60 Cross Country gets an EPA-estimated 30 highway mpg and 22 city mpg with 25 combined mpg.* The innovative Brake Energy Regeneration System feeds back the energy that's spent every time you release the accelerator or brake (when a gear is engaged) back into the battery. This results in up to 3 percent lower fuel consumption, which is a definite win in our eyes.
