Overview
Since its debut for the 2010 model year, the Volvo XC60 has been a strong contender in the small luxury crossover segment. Now the XC60 has been fully redesigned for 2018, solidifying its appeal with a refreshed sense of style, new engine options (including a plug-in hybrid variant), and a lengthy list of additional updates that significantly increase its luxury quotient for drivers and passengers alike.
The XC60 shares several similarities with the larger XC90 crossover (including the latter’s powertrain options), but with a more compact profile and sharper handling. The 2018 XC60 starts at $41,500 and is available in three trims: Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription.* Each offers a unique combination of luxury and performance, allowing for extensive customization so that you can tailor the XC60 to your individual driving needs.
The Perfect Ride for…
Drivers seeking the luxurious feel of an Audi or Mercedes-Benz with the value and safety that Volvo has built its name upon. The sporty R-Design includes performance highlights such as paddle shifters and sport seats, while the top-of-the-line Inscription wows with its wood inlays and leather-wrapped dashboard. In addition, every XC60 offers the convenient connectivity of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® smartphone integration and comes equipped with driver safety features like lane keeping assist, driver attention alert, road departure mitigation and protection, and more.
Drive & Handling
The 2018 XC60 is available with three powertrains, each of which can be paired with any of the model’s three trims. An eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive come standard with all models.
The base T5 is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine offers a healthy balance between performance and efficiency with an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway).**
The T6 powertrain uses an enhanced version of the T5 with additional turbo- and supercharging for a power output of 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine is rated at 23 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway).**
Finally, the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain pairs the T6 engine with a rear electric motor for a combined power output of 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy figures will be released closer to the model’s on-sale date.

Luxury Seat Package
Available exclusively on the top-of-the-line Inscription trim, the Luxury Seat Package enhances the XC60’s interior amenities in a big way. In addition to premium leather upholstery, the package includes upgraded front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functionality; heated rear seats; and a heated steering wheel.
Alternative Options
Volvo’s larger XC90 SUV was recently redesigned and is the epitome of full-size SUV luxury. With the choice of three different powertrains and a generous complement of standard and available equipment, the XC90 redefines the luxury SUV segment. The V60 Cross Country is a sportier crossover at a similar price point to the XC60 that combines the best of all worlds: it's luxurious, comfortable, and yet still rugged enough to handle a dirt road.
