A closer look at Volvo's most powerful models
After one hundred years of automotive engineering evolution, the modern driver deserves power. Volvo Cars Silver Spring understands, so this month, we’re honoring the top three most powerful models in the Volvo lineup. And the winners are… (Please imagine a drumroll in your head.)
Most Horsepower
A seven-passenger SUV needs a lot of power to climb up mountains and cruise down the interstate. The 2018 Volvo XC90’s (pictured above) T6 AWD Inscription trim is both turbocharged and supercharged and uses an all-wheel-drive 2.0-liter in-line four cylinder engine to put out an astonishing 316 hp.
Loudest Sound System
There’s just something liberating about turning up the volume while you’re tearing up the road. The 2018 V90 Cross Country not only features one of the most capable crossover powertrains, it also offers the best sound system in the brand’s lineup. The 2018 V90 Cross Country is available with a Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system, which includes a 12-channel 1400W amplifier and 19 speakers.
Most Powerful Hybrid
In the beginning of the hybrid revolution, cost-saving fuel efficiency meant sacrificing speed. Not anymore. After years of technological breakthroughs, Volvo engineers have perfected the craft of hybrid engineering with the 2018 S90. The S90’s T8 eAWD Plug-in Hybrid Momentum trim combines a 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engine with an 87-hp electric motor to produce a total of 400 hp and 472 lb ft of torque. The future is now.
These are just the top three on our list, and there are many more feats of strength from Volvo we would love to tell you about. So chug that energy drink, down that double espresso, or crush whatever rocket fuel you’re consuming, and come see us at Volvo Cars Silver Spring or contact us to learn more about the powerful options we have in our showroom.
